SCT Launches SCORE: Motive Power Fleet Savings Program

SCT's new managed service pairs a free equipment audit with a dedicated Fleet Analyst — built to give operators a clear, continuous answer on total cost of ownership, without adding another system to learn and maintain.

Know Your SCORE.
Own Your Savings.

Smart Charging Technologies (SCT), an independent provider of motive power fleet intelligence, today announced the launch of the Motive Power SCORE Program, a managed service that gives fleet operators independent data before they commit to their next battery, charger, or truck decision — including the lithium-ion conversions an increasing number of fleets are now considering. The program was developed in response to a consistent finding across SCT's fleet data: considerable capital that often remains unused in oversized batteries and underutilized chargers and forklift truck equipment.

That finding matters because total cost of ownership across a mixed motive power fleet has become increasingly difficult to see clearly, and most fleet and DC teams do not want to take on another complex system to learn and maintain. SCT built the SCORE Program as a managed service rather than new software for that reason: a dedicated Fleet Analyst handles the monitoring and analysis, so operators get a clear answer without adding to their own workload. The timing is not incidental. With 2027 equipment budgets being finalized across the industry this quarter, and lithium-ion proposals reaching more fleet operators each month, SCT maintains that verifying a recommendation before acting on it is no longer optional.

The program begins with an equipment list audit of a fleet's batteries, chargers, and trucks, followed by a detailed SCORE proposal, installation of CHARGlink, BATTlink, and TRUKlink devices, and continuous monitoring and analysis from a dedicated SCT Fleet Analyst. The relationship continues for as long as the fleet does — a long-term partnership, not a bounded engagement. It is built for the realities of a mixed fleet: compatibility across battery, charger, and truck brands; cellular connectivity that doesn't depend on warehouse Wi-Fi; and a single view across all three equipment types — deployed without adding complexity for facility teams.

KEY FACTS AT A GLANCE

  • Starts with a free, no-commitment equipment list audit
  • A dedicated SCT Fleet Analyst is assigned from day one — not after commitment
  • Continuous, ongoing monitoring across battery, charger, and truck data together — not a bounded engagement
  • SCT sells no batteries, chargers, or trucks — no equipment to sell, by design
  • Two independent deployments to date have found over $1.6 million combined in stranded capital
  • Available now to fleet operators across the United States and Canada

To date, two independent deployments illustrate the scale of the opportunity. A 20-site grocery distribution network identified $556,100 in stranded capital in 75 days, without a single new equipment purchase — the result of right-sizing alone. A separate audit of a large retailer's North American distribution network found $1,097,000 in identified savings at a single site, with original battery sizing assumptions off by 60 to 75 percent from actual measured use. Across the fleets SCT has measured, the same pattern recurs: roughly 70% of fleets run on less than half of their available battery capacity daily, and 20 to 30 percent of chargers sit barely used.

The Motive Power SCORE Program is available now to fleet operators across the United States and Canada. Fleets interested in a complimentary audit may request one at smartchargetech.com/score-program.

Retrofit Telematics: Add Visibility Without Replacing Equipment

Switching Platforms Shouldn’t Mean Replacing Equipment That Isn’t Broken There’s a quiet assumption built into a lot of telematics conversations: that better visibility means new equipment. New chargers, new batteries, a system torn out and swapped for another. For a lot of fleet managers, that assumption alone is enough to shelve the conversation entirely — the…

Your Next Equipment Purchase Shouldn’t Be Limited by Which Platform You’re Locked Into Choosing a telematics platform can feel like a software decision. It isn’t, not really. Charger Intelligence: The Fleet Blind Spot No One Monitors

You Can See Your Trucks. You Can See Your Batteries. Who’s Watching Your Chargers? Ask a fleet manager what they track, and the answer usually comes fast: trucks, obviously.
